Thanks to some text message-savvy grandchildren, North Carolina drivers whose license plates have the potentially offensive "WTF" letter combination can replace the tags for free. The News & Observer of Raleigh reported Tuesday the state Division of Motor Vehicles has notified nearly 10,000 holders of license plates with the letter combination. Officials learned last year the common acronym stands for a vulgar phrase in e-mail and cell phone text messages.

Last night, police arrested 39-year old Matthew Ray Bolick. He is charged with three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and four counts of giving/selling alcohol. Bolick is the head of security at a downtown club called 'Forum.' He was arrested after he allowed minors to drink inside the club, knowing they were underage. In addition, police say he took three teen girls to his home and gave them drinks.

Search engine giant Google Inc. plans to spend $600 million to build a data center in North Carolina, state officials and the company said Friday. The so-called "server farm" will eventually employ 210 people in a region hit hard in recent years by layoffs in the furniture and textile industries.
