Croatia probes Hitler likeness, jokes on sugar packets

ZAGREB, Croatia (Reuters) -- Small packets of sugar bearing the likeness of Adolf Hitler and carrying Holocaust jokes have been found in some cafes in Croatia, prompting an investigation, the office of the state prosecutor said on Monday. More →

The incident will embarrass the government which has been keen to play down the country's past links with Nazism.

I feel impelled to speak today in a language that in a sense is new - one which I, who have spent so much of my life in the military profession, would have preferred never to use. That new language is the language of necropocalyptic survival.
